Week 3 into summer and the days seem to be getting a lot hotter and a lot sooner in the year as well. And unless you have been living under a rock, and even if you were, we’ve all noticed the climb in temperature recently. It leaves many with nothing more to say than “It’s Hot!” and we couldn’t agree more. This article is the summer guide you need to help you stay and look your coolest all summer long. From making sure that your outside representatives have their sunscreen and drinking water regularly to providing a shaded working area under a pop-up tent with your branding on it.
When your body is attempting to maintain balance, the first sensations a person will feel is thirst, hydration is critical to that balance. Sweating, while unpleasant in many cases, is your body's natural way of cooling down. While cold water is a viable option for cooling down, room temperature water, coconut water, natural juices, or energy drinks will also do the trick with flying colors. Any beverage aside from maybe coffee is preferable to none. A couple ways to ensure that employees and customers alike have access to fresh water is to have bottled water available, ensuring your business has a water fountain, or spending a little on a reliable water cooler.


Remember those wild west cowboys who absolutely loved to play in all leather during high noon? We are recommending doing anything but that as sunburns are most common between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., when the sun is at its harshest. Allow for ways to limit exposure, your employees and customers will appreciate the effort and avoid overheating. It can be unavoidable when most of dealership merchandise is outdoors but even in those scenarios there are still options for limiting exposure to the harsh summer sun. Updating your online catalog will make it easier for customers to find what they are looking for without having to walk around the lot for extended periods of time. If there is no way to avoid going outside at such times, be sure to have necessary accommodations for the season. A drink and rest station located underneath a custom pop-up tent. This is also a great opportunity to give away UV protection products like sunscreen, umbrellas, or a portable mini fan.
The sun is beaming, and sweat has started to drip from our foreheads. It’s no secret that we still have a lot of summer to go still.
